Port Oostende welcomes Business Development Director

On January 1, 2022 Steve Declercq will start as Business Development Director in Port Oostende to strengthen the commercial team. He started his career at shipping company CAST, where he held various sales and marketing positions. He later held various commercial management positions in the logistics world at CMA CGM, the towage company URS (now Boluda) and DuisPort Agency, among others. For the past five years, Steve Declercq worked as Chief Business Officer at DP World in Antwerp. He thus brings with him a wealth of almost 30 years of commercial maritime experience.

As a native of Ostend, this means for Steve Declercq a return to his hometown, where he grew up and also supports his favorite football team KV Oostende. He obtained his diploma in international marketing at the Hogeschool Ghent and then successfully completed the International Management Program at the Vlerick Business School. The knowledge that Steve Declercq brings from his entire career will offer new perspectives in the further development of Port Oostende.

In the recent years, Port Oostende has succeeded in attracting new and innovative companies. In this way a lot of employment and martime traffic was created. They want to continue along this path by attracting new maritime traffic, for which a Business Development Director has now been recruited.
